Mosaicat
About Mosaicat
In Mosaicat, players solve grid-based puzzles by dividing the board into rectangles that reveal a hidden image piece by piece. Each numbered tile indicates the size of its rectangle, and your task is to correctly place these rectangles to cover every square without overlaps. For example, a tile marked with a 6 must be part of a rectangle covering exactly six squares. The challenge lies in determining where each rectangle fits, using logic to find the unique solution for every puzzle.
As you complete each rectangle, the covered tiles transform, gradually uncovering a colorful picture that emerges through your actions. These illustrations include charming motifs like a cactus, a teapot, or an orange cat, making the puzzle-solving experience visually rewarding. There are no timers or penalties, so you can take your time exploring possibilities and making thoughtful decisions.
Mosaicat offers a wide range of puzzles, each carefully constructed to have a single, clear solution, ensuring a satisfying and fair challenge without guesswork. The difficulty progresses steadily, allowing players to build skills as they advance through the stages. Several color themes, including light and dark options, help customize the visual experience. If you get stuck, a limited hint system can reveal one rectangle at a time to help you move forward.
The game is accessible with simple controls suited for both mouse and touch devices, making it easy to draw rectangles on the grid. Mosaicat combines elements of puzzle solving and logic in a relaxed setting, making it a thoughtful and engaging choice for players who enjoy brain teasers without pressure.
How to Play
The board is covered in tiles, and some of them carry a number. Every number is
the size of the rectangle it belongs to.
1. Find a number and work out where its rectangle can fit. A 6 needs six
squares: 1x6, 2x3, 3x2 or 6x1.
2. Drag across the grid to draw that rectangle, and release to place it.
3. The tiles it covered turn into part of the hidden picture.
4. Repeat until every square on the board is inside a rectangle.
Rules:
Each rectangle covers exactly one number.
That number is how many squares the rectangle covers.
Rectangles never overlap.
Every square ends up inside one.
A rectangle that does not belong is refused. Nothing is lost and nothing is
counted against you - draw another one.
Stuck? The hint button opens one rectangle for you. You have three, and after
that a short video buys another.
